My first blog is a ramble of thoughts about being a Professor of Classical Guitar and what it means to me. It means producing the best possible results from everyone willing to do the work. It means teaching a respect for the score, a willingness to risk failure but, to endure and work harder. It means teaching students how to teach them selves, which to me is the ultimate goal. It means making kids become adults too. It means more than just teaching the mechanics of the instrument and the body but teaching the student to hear how the harmony, rhythm and sounds become part of their interpretation of the work, how all the bits become whole.
